FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Senator Robert Onder to be Procurator for Save Our St. Louis Parishes
We are proud to announce that Senator Robert Onder has agreed to be the Procurator for "Save Our St. Louis Parishes." Senator Onder is a lifelong Missourian, elected to the Missouri Senate in 2014, who is now finishing his second term representing the 2nd District in St. Charles County.
What is a "Procurator"?
The Catholic Church follows canon law, which is different than civil law. If this were a civil law event, then the procurator would most likely be referred to as "the power of attorney" for the class filing the complaint or notice. Since the St. Louis Archdiocese by their own charter adheres to canon law, you need a canonist (lawyer) and a "procurator" to represent the laity when petitioning the Archdiocese. Senator Onder has agreed to be our procurator offering his time solely as a volunteer. The canonist (canon lawyer) will be Mr. Philip Gray who is offering his service pro bono (free of charge).
About Senator Bob Onder
Bob received his A.B. and his M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, and his J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law. Prior to his entry into politics, Senator Onder worked as a medical doctor who is board certified in Allergy and Immunology and Internal Medicine. He is also the founder of Midwest Clinical Research, L.L.C.
During his time in the Missouri Senate he served for three years as Assistant Majority Floor Leader, and was instrumental in the passage of pro-life legislation, including the 2017 law protecting pregnancy care centers and the 2019 “Heartbeat” law, as well as bills protecting religious liberty, education choice and parental rights in education.
Senator Onder is married to his wife Allison, and is a father of six children. He was a founding member of St. Gianna Catholic Church in 2006 which remains his parish to this day. He and his family reside in Lake St. Louis, Missouri.
About "Save Our St. Louis Parishes"
We are an Archdiocesan-wide group which will represent all the lay faithful Catholics across the Archdiocese of St. Louis who want to be heard regarding the initiative of "All Things New" as presented by the Catholic Leadership Institute (CLI) and the Archdiocesan leadership in 42 different "models" for consideration. Our misson is to help save souls by saving parishes from closing or merging across the entire Archdiocese.
